Kenpo is a unique and versatile martial art - a system that utilizes traditional and modern training methods. The Kenpo practioner uses the rounded fluid motions of Chinese Kung Fu and the hard linear strikes of Japanese Karate to create self-defense techniques, form exercises and free-fighting combinations.
Belt levels are attained with thorough training, intensive attention to technique and devotion to study. Belt ranks are generally achieved at a slower pace than other styles of karate due to the strict standards put forth by the Chinese Kenpo Karate Association (CKKA) and its founders in order for the student to gain an unsurpassed knowledge and appreciation of the art of Kenpo Karate.
The Kenpo Creed
I come to you with only Karate, my empty hands. I have no weapons, but should I be forced to defend myself, my prinicples or my honor, should it be a matter of life or death, of right or wrong, then these are my weapons, Karate, my empty hands.
